The Study of Freshwater Ecosystem Services in Croatia should provide information about the importance of freshwater ecosystems to society in Croatia, based not only on their biodiversity, but alsoon other benefits (ecosystem services) that they provide to society - drinking water, wood, fish, game animals, flood protection, nutrient and carbon cycle stabilization, sediment retention, tourism, and art inspiration. The Study is focused on one of the most vulnerable ecosystem - floodplains.
