    In 2004, the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the First Report on Millennium Development Goals in Croatia, analyzing the current situation and steps needed to achieve national Millennium Development Goals.

    The Republic of Croatia issued its first Progress Report on the Achievement of the nationalized Millennium Development Goals in October 2006. The Regional MDG Report assessed that Croatia is on track to achieve Goals 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 and is likely to achieve the Goals 2, 3, and 4 by 2015.

    As a country which has made the transition from a development aid recipient country to a donor country, as well as like other EU member states, Croatia adopted the EU support plan for the achievement of the MDGs. Moreover, Croatia has assumed a more active approach in donating development aid, since signing Millennium Declaration which, among other things, stresses the importance of international cooperation and global partnership for the successful fulfillment of the Millennium agenda as a whole.

  • Youth and the MDGs in Croatia

    This report is the result of the Involving Youth Organizations in the Millennium Development Goals project, implemented by the Croatian Youth Network in cooperation with UNDP in Croatia. The project’s three objectives were to raise awareness of the Millennium Development Goals among youth organizations, to investigate how and to what extent youth in Croatia have actively been involved in the areas of the MDGs and to motivate youth organizations to start new initiatives and contribute to the achievement of the MDGs.
