UNDP and Brodoto invite you to learn how to create and manage a successful crowdfunding campaign
ZAGREB, 23 April, 2015 - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and social enterprise BRODOTO are organizing the Crowdfunding Academy and therefore are inviting associations, cooperatives, municipalities and cities, start-up companies, entrepreneurs, craftsmen and all citizens with interesting and innovative projects to apply for free education on crowdfunding by May 15, 2015.
Ten teams selected in the competition will, from 30 May to early September 2015, with the support of mentors and crowdfunding professionals develop their projects and prepare for managing their own crowdfunding campaigns. Teams that will successfully complete the program of the Crowdfunding Academy will in the autumn get the support for the joint launch of the campaigns on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo whose experts will also help shape the campaigns.
Crowdfunding or group financing of projects is a trend in the world that for several years shows no signs of slackening. It is estimated that in the past year through various crowdfunding platforms was raised over USD 16 billion, while the World Bank estimates say that by 2025 this amount will grow to over USD 100 billion.
"The Crowdfunding Academy is a great opportunity for all who those who have interesting ideas and projects, but they lack the initial funds for their realization. We are looking for innovative projects, especially in the field of environmental protection and renewable energy resources, hardware and software solutions, raising awareness about the prevention of the risk of flooding and extreme weather conditions, education, social entrepreneurship and social inclusion,” said Robert Pašičko from UNDP.

As part of the program of the Crowdfunding Academy, in September 2015 will be held a crowdfunding conference, at which representatives of the IndieGoGo, foreign and local experts, investors and managers of successful campaigns will present their experiences and successful domestic and international crowdfunding campaign.
